Daily NationThe daily reported that the Madaraka Day celebration was, indeed, a bad day all through for William Ruto as he was snubbed at every turn. To begin with, Ruto was locked out of a brief ceremony at State House prior to the Uhuru Gardens event, where the entire Cabinet was present. As the president joined the CSs in a dance with the State House choir, Ruto was the only member of the Cabinet at Uhuru Gardens. When Ruto arrived at the venue, unusually, State House master of ceremony Peter Wanjohi failed to recognise his arrival. Among them was the former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita who was awarded Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (MGH).
