Malaysia hit international headlines quite a few times this year - from democratically changing our government for the first time, to the on-going tradition of child marriage, and of course - 1MDB. 2018 saw the new government push for radical changes in some parts like establishing a committee to weed out corruption, reduced the price of broadband while increasing speeds, and pushing for abolishing of the death penalty. 2018 also saw the issue of child marriage resurface, while homosexuality made headlines and racial tensions are on the horizon again.
