Around 5:30 p.m. on May 31, officers stopped a vehicle that had been “driving erratically” near Davis Dr. and Jane St. in Newmarket and found the driver’s licence was suspended, police alleged in a news release Thursday. While speaking to the drive, police say officers smelled cannabis inside the car and allege the driver told them he had more than five pounds of cannabis products that he was delivering for an online dispensary. Officers then took the driver into custody. Police said they seized four pounds of cannabis packed for sale, more than 60 packages of cannabis gummies and 50 packages of cannabis shatter. Police declined to give the name of the online store, saying it was part of the ongoing investigation.
