JAKRATA: American restaurant chain Hooters, known for its sexy waitresses, officially opened its first outlet in Kemang, South Jakarta, on March 24. Hooters Jakarta general manager Sherry Suradji told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday that the Jakarta version offered a similar sports bar concept to the US flagship chain. However, compared to its other outlets, Hooters Jakarta appears to be more family-friendly as it applies a no smoking rule and has no age restriction. In regard to its reputation of employing scantily clad waitresses, Sherry said Hooters Jakarta had adjusted the uniform by making the neckline higher to cover the cleavage. Hooters Jakarta is said to have received positive responses from patrons.
