Newcastle will return to Premier League action today and attempt to give fans a distraction from matters off the pitch as they face Champions League-chasing Sheffield United at home. Newcastle are currently in the middle of a £300million takeover, with fans desperate for an update. Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has declared that he wants a resolution to the Newcastle takeover saga as soon as possible. The Magpies look set to be bought out by a consortium backed by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, but Bruce is keen to turn attention back to what happens on the pitch today. Bruce will be without Matty and Sean Longstaff, and gave an update on Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie, both of whom have knocks.
