As obvious as it sounds, without these goals, Newcastle would have lost the latest in a line of topsy turvy games. There have been 90 in total in league games involving Newcastle in 2023-24 - which is more than any other side. Remarkably, only eight top-flight sides have shipped more goals than Newcastle (39) in 2023-24 and the black-and-whites have as poor a record as leaky Chelsea. However pleased Howe was with his side's set-play threat, and Bruno's winner, the Newcastle boss was the first to recognise that.
