Newcastle United ace Elliot Anderson could be set for his first Premier League minutes since October after returning from his serious back injury in the midweek FA Cup penalty shoot-out win over Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder had been sidelined for 18 weeks after hiccups in his rehabilitation extended his time in the physio room beyond the initial three-month estimate. The 21-year-old played the final four minutes of extra time at Ewood Park before dispatching during spot-kicks. Anderson has been getting back up to full speed in group training this week ahead of the visit of Wolves on Saturday and hopes are being raised that he could make the matchday Premier League squad for the first time in 2024. "It was a frustrating time for Elliot, but we are very glad to get him back.," he said.
