Dhaka TribuneThe newborn’s mother, a 20-year old woman and a mother of one, dumped the baby after the child was reportedly born deadThe body of a newborn girl, who was reportedly found dead after birth, was recovered near the women's ward of Natore General Hospital on Friday. The girl's body was handed over to her family for burial after the body was found hanging off the sun-shade of the first floor in women's ward, police said. Confirming, Dr Ansarul Haque, assistant director of the hospital said: "Sweety is a long term patient of neurological and heart ailments. As the woman and none of her family members knew that she had been pregnant, out of fear, she dumped the newborn's body from the bathroom's window," the doctor added. Police initially detained Sweety and handed the body of the baby to her family for burial after she confessed that she was her mother, said Natore Sadar police station Sub-Inspector Rafikul Islam.
