Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Dr Shekh Kudrat-E-Khuda of SMCH said: “On Sunday morning, patients at the hospital heard the crying of a newborn baby coming from one of the dustbins here. “We rescued the five-day-old boy from the dustbin and brought him inside the hospital. A woman named Hira, 30, had admitted the baby to our hospital a few days ago.”Dr Shekh Kudrat-E-Khuda told the correspondent that the newborn was abandoned by her mother on Saturday night. But now the baby is well in the hospital,” he said, adding that the deputy commissioner and Sadar police station had been informed about the incident.
