The incident occurred at the house of Nazmul at Raipur Pachimpara village Friday night. According to his family, furniture, goods, stored crops, and cattle worth around Tk3 lakh - including Tk55,000 in cash - have been incinerated in the fire. The blaze broke out when Nazmul’s wife went to her neighbour’s house leaving her two children - 6-year-old Mashura and 23-day-old Samiul - at home. Deceased’s uncle Bablu said: “The fire spread across the house quickly. Moreover, a lot of jute fibers that were stored inside the house helped the fire to spread rapidly and caused maximum damage.
