A newborn girl from Dhar, who had holes in her heart, died on Monday after a Bengaluru hospital refused treatment under a scheme run by the Madhya Pradesh government which allegedly owed it Rs 6 crore dues. He also alleged that the hospital refused to give an estimate for the operation, as required under MBHUY. “I have informed the district collector and higher-ups in the health department about the refusal and the reason behind it,” said Dr Panika. The administrator of Narayana Hospital, who goes by the first name, Vicky, said, “Yes the Madhya Pradesh government owes us money,” adding that it was a shade more than Rs 6 cr. Hospital COO Joseph Pasangha said, “It is incorrect to say that the hospital denied treatment to the baby.
