Newborn’s body recovered from dustbin at Tongi Hospital


The body of a newborn baby, believed to be around seven months old, was recovered from a dustbin inside Tongi Government Hospital in Gazipur after a stray dog was seen dragging and mutilating the body. The incident came to light when several children, who were playing inside the hospital premises, noticed the disturbing scene and alerted local residents. Police later recovered the body, though the identity of the newborn remains unknown. The body was recovered at approximately 7:30pm on Sunday (11 January) from beside a dustbin within the hospital compound. OC Mehedi Hasan stated that police arrived at the scene after receiving the report and recovered the newborn’s body.
