Britain could face a “large wave of infection” with hospital admissions exceeding 1,000 a day when schools return next month and people go back to their offices, a government scientific adviser has warned. From today the government has ended the requirement for fully vaccinated people to isolate if they are pinged as a coronavirus contact. They are instead advised to get a PCR test, but they are under no legal obligation to do so.
