The NZ Transport Agency is proposing new speed limits for the Milford Road. Plans are in place to reduce speed limits on Milford Road but Te Anau fire chief Graeme Moffat isn't convinced they'll make a difference to accident numbers. The NZ Transport Agency is proposing speed limit changes to three sections of State Highway 94, more commonly known as Milford Road, between the Homer Tunnel and Milford Sound. The Te Anau Volunteer Fire Brigade chief has attended a number of serious crashes on the road. According to the agency, about one million tourists travel the Milford Road each year.
