Etienne Lavoie was back in court Tuesday in Sherbrooke, about 150-kilometres east of Montreal. Lavoie was first arrested in February and charged with 14 counts including pimping, sexual assault, armed sexual assault and drug charges, and many of the new charges are similar in nature. The charges involve three complainants and incidents that are alleged to have taken place between May 2018 and January 2019 — the same time frame as the initial charges involving three other victims. Lavoie is also charged with obstructing justice for allegedly asking a third-party to persuade one of the alleged victims to drop her complaint.
