The new Public Service Pensions and Judicial Offices Bill will aim to fix pension reforms set out in 2015, which saw public sector workers who were ten years from retirement allowed to stay in legacy schemes. This suggestion would see thousands of public service workers get to choose what scheme they would like to receive benefits from for a certain period. It would apply to those who joined a public service pension scheme on or before March 31, 2012. All legacy pension schemes for public service workers will also close from this date. She said: "It is welcome that the government will be bringing forward legislation to respond to the finding of age discrimination in its public service pension reforms.
