The minister was briefing reporters after a meeting at the Secretariat when he announced the reform. He said that new building designs in areas under the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha(Rajuk), Chittagong Development Authority (CDA), and others will need approval from only four organizations. NOC from law enforcement agencies for constructing buildings near Key Point Installations (KPI) like the Bangabhaban and the PMO4. The housing and public works minister said an automation process introduced in the design approval has helped cut down the approval time from 150 days to only 53 days at a lower cost. The minister also declared that drives will continue against those who construct buildings violating rules and regulations.
