The Family Caregiver Support Program provides counseling, planning help and other resources for unpaid caregivers like herself. The new programs — Medicaid Alternative Care and Tailored Services for Adults — are being funded by a Medicaid demonstration grant from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Kitsap County's Division of Aging and Long Term Care coordinates caregiver support programs locally. "We're here to support caregivers in our community," county Aging and Long Term Care administrator Stacey Smith said.
