The UK Home Office on Monday released more details on the country’s points-based immigration system, which will come into effect from January, 1 2021 after the transition period with the European Union has ended. “Brexit” formally took place on January 31, 2020 when the UK legally revoked its membership in the 28-nation EU. The new points-based system will also expand the skills threshold for skilled workers. The Global Talent Scheme also allows highly-skilled scientists and researchers to travel to the UK without a job offer.
