Coronavirus cases have increased by 93% in most English regions, just days before all restrictions are due to end on July 19. South Tyneside continues to have the highest rate, with 2,052 new cases in the seven days to July 8, the equivalent of 1,359.2 per 100,000 people. But three areas of Teesside - Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland - have seen huge rises in Covid cases, reports Teesside Live. The recent figures, based on Public Health England data, have been recorded in the seven days to July 8. Meanwhile in Redcar and Cleveland, the number of positive cases have increased from 380.6 to 687.6, with 943 new cases.
