The Omniplex Group is the fourth-largest cinema chain in Ireland and the UKDublin’s Rathfarnham is to get it’s first cinema in 70 years, with a five-screen venue to open in Nutgrove Shopping Centre at the beginning of next year. Omniplex Cinema Group has said it will invest more than €3m in the new development, which will be the first cinema in the area since the closure of the Landscape Cinema in 1955. The new Nutgrove cinema will offer an “elevated cinema experience”, with each of the five theatres featuring 50 Pullman-style sofas complete with footrests. This will offer deeper seats, wider armrests, and greater legroom compared to standard cinema seating, offering a more luxurious experience. Steven Stocks, centre manager of Nutgrove Shopping Centre, expressed his excitement at the planned development.
