The Ethio-American Cultural Festival and Exhibition will be held Sunday, Sept. 9 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Town Square in Grand Forks. The festival will feature cultural food from Ethiopia, including organic and gluten-free options. Tadesse Urga, one of the organizers of the festival, said the United States and Ethiopia have deep cultures and ties. While there isn't a large number of Ethiopians living in Grand Forks, Urga said Grand Forks is at the center of many cities where there is a strong number of people from the African country. There are many Ethiopians living in Minneapolis and parts of South Dakota, as well as just two hours north in Winnipeg, Canada.
