A new chief finance officer is set to be appointed by the Royal Borough council to oversee the handling of the local authority’s money. Elizabeth Griffiths will fill the permanent role left by her predecessor Adele Taylor, who joined cash-strapped Slough Borough Council in January. She currently holds the positions of chief finance officer and deputy chief executive at West Oxfordshire District Council. Ms Griffiths has been recommended by the Royal Borough’s appointment committee following a national search and rigorous appointment process, the council said. Andrew Vallance, the council’s head of finance, continues to fulfil the statutory role of chief finance officer (also known as Section 151 Officer) on an interim basis until Ms Griffiths starts.
