EVERYONE knows the PTPTN (National Higher Education Fund Corp) now after all the stories splashed in the media almost daily. Many sympathise with the fund’s difficulties in recovering study loan repayments. Under the current business model, PTPTN loans are given to students. Instead, I would suggest that all PTPTN loans be given directly to the parents. What we will eventually gain economically is a good enough reason to invest in the PTPTN.
