New book about late Clara man to be launched in RahanA new book featuring a collection of memories and stories of Clara man George Griffith, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 98, will be launched in Rahan later this month. The launch of 'Down the Decades' by Moate native Tom Minnock will take place in Rahan Community Centre on Saturday, November 18 at 8pm. Born in 1922, the life of George Griffith tracked the life of the new Irish State, down through the decades. Tom's book is a collection of George's reflections on that century up to 2022, captured for the most part, during conversation between the two of them, up until George's passing in March 2020. “Over the next nine odd decades, George lived through everything that actually happened.
