Horse Racing Ireland assessing interest in developmentSemi-state agency Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) is looking for an external partner to develop a new arena and hotel project at Leopardstown Racecourse on the outskirts of Dublin. HRI has launched a pre-market consultation seeking expressions of interest from international developers, investors and operators for a potential multi-­purpose sports or entertainment arena and an on-site hotel at Leopardstown. Around 17 acres at Leopardstown has been earmarked for for the potential delivery of 800 homes under an agreement between HRI and the Land Development Agency (LDA). In its consultation notice, HRI emphasises that horse racing “is and will remain” the primary purpose of the Leopardstown campus. HRI’s arena and hotel consultation forms part of what it describes as the next phase in the evolution of the Leopardstown campus.
