One of the senior New Zealand soldiers based at Camp Taji in Iraq talks about day to day living, when Stuff visited the military camp in 2015. New Zealand will close its embassy in Iraq after withdrawing most of its soldiers from the country. New Zealand opened the embassy to support the deployment of soldiers to Iraq's Camp Taji. Mike Scott/Stuff New Zealand Prime Minister John Key visited kiwi troops based at Camp Taji in Iraq who are part of a mission to train Iraqi troops. Consular services for Iraq will be transferred to the New Zealand embassy in Abu Dhabi.
