A funeral is underway for a New Zealand mother-of-four who died in a jet-ski accident just months after beating breast cancer. Patricia Wilson died on November 10 after coming off a large rubber tube towed by jet-ski on Waitara River in the Taranaki region of the North Island. She said Ms Wilson wanted to live long enough to walk her four children aged between 18 and 10 down the aisle and meet her grandchildren. Friend Gina Blackburn said it was disappointing to not give Ms Wilson the send-off she deserves as tangi practices would attract thousands from the community. Ms Wilson was a teacher at Te Kohanga Reo o Waitaro and a talented singer who performed in multiple bands and was well-known in the karaoke scene.
