The United States struck back soon after as speedster Baker shook his man, cut inside and scored under the posts. Lewis Ormond put New Zealand back in front when a loose pass from the United States was plucked from the floor, and he streaked home. But Baker struck back against for the United States on the stroke of halftime, sprinting down the right touchline and stretching past the chasing New Zealand defenders.
