New Zealand buyers boost figures for Melbourne saleVince Caligiuri Three colts by Golden Slipper winner Pierro are heading to New Zealand from the Melbourne Great Southern Sale. The two farms paid out A$430,000 for three colts, including the top priced lot of A$210,000, at this week's Melbourne sales. Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente​ had a colt make A$160,000 and he is New Zealand bound to Prima Park. Peter Moody was the other to invest in a Pierro colt, paying A$105,000 to be one of the six lots he bought for an overall outlay of A$311,000. What was pleasing from the Great Southern Sale was the interest again for a number of freshman stallions.
