Earlier this week, I had the misfortune to be on Glasgow's Cambridge Street attempting to get across Sauchiehall Street so I could continue my journey to the Scottish Daily Express office. As a result, it is still impossible to get across Sauchiehall Street apart from at a handful of crossing points. Believe it or not, the Empire State Building in New York took just 391 days to finish. Construction got underway on March 17, 1930, and the whole building was up and dusted by April 11, 1931. According to Transport Scotland, the Woodside Viaduct works began on March 12, 2021 and will continue until "early 2026".
