The New York Knicks (23-34) are seeking to trade former All-Star point guard and league MVP, Derrick Rose and the unlikely potential suitor could in fact be the Minnesota Timberwolves (22-35). The trade would involve sending Rose to Minneapolis for point guard Ricky Rubio. The Timberwolves are currently 13 games under .500, but remain just 3.5 games behind the eight seeded Denver Nuggets as they seek to end their 13-year playoff drought. The deal could reunite Rose with his former head coach Tom Thibodeau, who helped guide the young point guard and the Chicago Bulls to several deep playoff runs. Ian Begley reported a few days ago regarding this trade stating:“The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached out to the Knicks recently to discuss potential trades for New York point guard Derrick Rose.
