Dan’s the ManJudge went out of his way not once but twice to reaffirm the organization’s belief in quarterback Daniel Jones as the franchise’s future. Jones, who quarterbacked the league’s 31st offense—only the Jets were worse—remained the same statistically in nearly every category in his second season with just one glaring exception (touchdown passes). The decline in touchdown passes? That’s why finding Jones one or two or more playmakers with speed is among the top priorities of the Giants front office this season. All of that would make sense, but again, if the Giants have their druthers, they’d probably prefer to keep the starting trio of Williams, Tomlinson, and Lawrence together for the long-term.
