A New York City woman died Monday from a rare shark attack off the coast of Bailey Island in Harpswell, Maine, according to the Maine Department of Marine Resources. The woman was identified as Julie Dimperio Holowach, 63. Ms. Dimperio Holowach was swimming 20 yards from shore with her daughter when she was attacked by a great white shark around 3:26 p.m., department commissioner Patrick Keliher said at a Tuesday press conference.
