New York City has stopped a popular graffiti-removal program, frustrating business owners trying to combat vandalism. The $3 million Graffiti-Free NYC program was first suspended in March due to the coronavirus, and then indefinitely in April as the city took cost-cutting measures to make up for an estimated $9 billion revenue deficit caused by the coronavirus pandemic, a spokeswoman for Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
