When I was a child, my cousins and I would gather round on New Year’s Day and declare to each other what our new year’s resolutions were and sometimes we suggested to each other what our resolutions should be. Many people make New Year resolutions and by the end of the first quarter of the year those resolutions are forgotten. The first, important, step is to write down our goals, objectives, resolutions, whatever you want to call them. This year, however, as we make resolutions for ourselves, we should also make resolutions for our nation. Who emerges as candidates and eventually holders of positions in government will depend on us and the resolutions that we make for Nigeria.
