The council have improved road closures for several CBD events despite opposition from a business owner. New Plymouth's Performance Committee has approved road closures for two bicycle events in the central business district. This runs from 5pm-8pm and covers Ariki St from Currie to Egmont streets, Egmont St from Ariki to Devon St West, King St from Queen to Brougham streets, Brougham St from Ariki St to Devon St West, and James Ln from Ariki St to Huatoki Ln. The second event is the Velo Deus, from 5pm-8pm on March 1, covering King St from Queen St to Brougham St, Egmont St from Ariki St to Devon St West, and Brougham St from Ariki St to Devon St West. However, one business owner opposed the closures when the committee met on Wednesday.
