The (lack of) view from the Taranaki Daily News office on level 7 of the Worley Parsons House in New Plymouth. Lingering fog has disrupted flights in and out of New Plymouth, and it is set to hang around for hours to come. One return Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to New Plymouth was cancelled on Thursday morning, while another from the same region attempted to land in Taranaki but had to turn back. An Air New Zealand spokesperson said in an emailed statement that fog was to blame for the disruptions. According to the airline's website, a return flight from Wellington was also delayed, as well as one from Christchurch.
