New Plymouth MP at London security conferenceAndy Jackson/FAIRFAX NZ New Plymouth MP Jonathan Young is attending a security conference in LondonNew Plymouth MP Jonathan Young is this week in London taking part in a major international Parliamentary conference on national securityHe is among some 40 parliamentary delegations from across the world looking at terrorism and cybercrime. The conference comes in the wake of last week's attack in the city which left four people - including the perpetrator - dead. Hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK Branch (CPA UK), the event will explore issues including peacekeeping and international intervention, and cybersecurity: privacy vs protection. "It is the duty of parliamentarians to understand the issues and take a proactive role in strengthening national security processes. While in the UK, Young also plans to attend a session with the All-Party Group of UK MPs on artificial intelligence and meet representatives from the Creative Industries Federation.
