PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Maj. Gen. Allen Paredes as the new commanding general of the Philippine Air Force (PAF). Paredes was recommended by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana to succeed Lt. Gen. Rozzano Briguez, who is set to hang his uniform on January 17. Prior to his new assignment, Paredes notably served as chief of the Air Logistics Command, the Chief of Air Staff and Wing Commander of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing. The Department of National Defense (DND) hailed the appointment of Paredes as the new Air Force chief. Gen. Paredes’ wide experience and sterling record will serve the PAF well as he leads it to new heights.
