New MACC chief commissioner says it's too soon for him to comment on his appointment

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull, who has been named as the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner, felt it was too soon for him to say anything about his appointment. He said he had yet to get his appointment letter and still did not know when he was supposed to report for duty. “I will call all reporters on the day I clock in (as the MACC chief commissioner),” he said in a short Whatsapp message. Shukri will replace Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad, who submitted a letter on Monday to the Chief Secretary to the Government to end his contract as MACC chief commissioner. Dr Mahathir said Shukri, as the former MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations), had the experience and much information.
