New LPA spotted east of Mindanao but won’t affect PH weather for now

MANILA, Philippines — A new low-pressure area (LPA) has been spotted east of Mindanao but it will not affect the country’s climate for now, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). ADVERTISEMENTBased on Pagasa’s 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the LPA was located 760 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is expected to move closer to the country in the next 24 hours and will then affect parts of the country’s southern region, the state weather bureau said. “Sa mga oras na ito wala pa itong direktang epekto sa anumang bahagi ng ating bansa subalit within 24 hours nga ay inaasahan na maapektuhan ang ilang bahagi ng Mindanao,” weather specialist Chris Perez said. (By this time, the low-pressure area still has no direct effect on any part of the country but within 24 hours we can expect it to affect parts of Mindanao.)
