New Japanese envoy presents credentials to president


Newly appointed Japanese Ambassador Hiroyasu Izumi presented his credentials to President Abdul Hamid in Dhaka on Tuesday. Ambassador Izumi joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in 1981 and served as director general of the foreign service training institute. Izumi said: “It is a great pleasure and a badge of honour for me to assume the ambassadorship in Bangladesh. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bangladesh. We will pay utmost attention to safety measures in cooperation with the Government of Bangladesh,” Ambassador Izumi added.
