New Canterbury school could need extra classrooms within five years of opening – reportDON SCOTT/STUFF New subdivisions in Rangiora are expected to add 1800 homes to the area by 2041. A new primary school opening in 2020 may need new classrooms as early as 2025. Rangiora West Primary School will open with 350 year 1 to 8 students in 2020 and ultimately accommodate 600 children. An August report to then-Education Minister Nikki Kaye advised the school could need additional classrooms as soon as 2025.
