FREDERICTON—New Brunswick’s Liberal party has confirmed Kevin Vickers is the lone candidate for its leadership, setting the stage for his acclamation. The party’s leadership steering committee says it decided late Wednesday to recommend to the party’s board that the former House of Commons sergeant-at-arms be appointed leader. Kevin Vickers, the former House of Commons sergeant-at-arms, is briefed by Lisa Harris, left, MLA for Miramichi Bay-Neguac, before announcing his intention to run for the leadership of the New Brunswick Liberals last month in Miramichi, N.B. The party has confirmed that Vickers is the lone candidate and it will recommend he be appointed leader. He served as sergeant-at-arms for the House of Commons between 2006 and 2015.
