Mohammad Sufiur Rahman, the newly appointed Bangladesh high commissioner to Australia, presented his credentials to Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia Peter Cosgrove at Government House in Canberra on Friday. During their meeting, Peter greeted the Bangladesh envoy and wished him success in his new assignment, while Sufiur conveyed warm greetings from Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, according to a press release issued by Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra. Peter and Sufiur also exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral issues. Among others, Peter Cosgrove’s wife Lynne Cosgrove, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Penny William, Sufiur’s wife Shamsia Begum and officials of Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra were present at the ceremony. The governor general hosted a lunch in honour of the Bangladesh high commissioner.
