The service, Pet TV, has been introduced by Tencent Video as part of the company’s push into niche entertainment segments. The channel features a continuous lineup of content aimed at engaging pets while their owners are away from home. According to Tencent, pets perceive audio and visual stimuli differently from humans. As a result, programmes on Pet TV have been specially adjusted to better suit animal senses, including modifications to sound frequencies, colour presentation and frame rates. Pet TV has initially been launched in China, with no immediate announcement regarding availability in other markets.
