AFP via Getty ImagesBritain’s Labour Party has unveiled a supplement to its main election manifesto that promises to spend more than £7 billion on making England one of the best countries in the world for walking and cycling. Politically-unaligned active-travel advocates have taken to social media to laud the pledges as the “best” they have ever seen from a British political party, outgunning even the Green Party. Released online late on November 30, the new £7.2 billion plans include spending £50 annually per head on active travel measures. The Labour Party also plans to fund an “e-bike valley” industrial cluster.
