Netflix brings theatre-sound Dolby Atmos to homes

Netflix announced via a press statement that the first title with Dolby Atmos from Netflix was “Okla”, which was released on the network on June 28. Dolby Atmos support will also be available this year for “BLAME!” (scheduled for Netflix release on July 28), “Death Note” (August 25), “Bright” (December) and “Wheelman”. Greg Peters, the company’s chief product officer, said Dolby Atmos “is a critical tool to extend the storytelling beyond the screen and draw audiences into the narrative”. Dolby Atmos streaming is supported on Microsoft’s Xbox One, One S and 2017-model LG OLED TVs. The LG OLED TVs have built-in Dolby Atmos capabilities that create a 360° sound field around you without the need to connect an external sound system.
