Opinion: There have been plenty of sporting highlights over the last two years in Southland, but it is hard to go past the netball. I started as a sports reporter at The Southland Times in 2015, thinking it would be great to write about rugby, little did I know that my main highlights as I depart my post would be in the sport of netball. Seeing the Southland Rams fairytale season in 2016 was also memorable. Coming to Southland from previous stints in Ecuador and Wellington where football has a higher profile was also a change.
